What is chaufe souris?

Chauve-souris is the French term for "bat," which is a flying mammal known for its ability to echolocate. Bats belong to the order Chiroptera and are found all over the world, with more than 1,300 species known to exist. They range in size from the tiny bumblebee bat, which weighs less than a penny and is only 1-2 inches long, to the flying fox, which has a wingspan of up to six feet. Bats play an important role in pollination, seed dispersal, and pest control, but many species are threatened due to habitat loss, hunting, and disease.
